Moving from a stuffy, cramped apartment to a spacious country house was a real happiness for our family. Naturally, we set about ennobling the adjacent territory. We recently covered the site with a roll lawn. Thanks to this, it became not only beautiful, but also the number of weeds has sharply decreased.
I will note that we did not come to the roll lawn right away. At first we tried to sow the area with seeds, but this caused a lot of inconvenience. Weeds regularly appeared on the lawn, no matter how much we plucked and weeded them.
Fortunately, an acquaintance told us to try a lawn grass that can fight weeds. I saw such a lawn with him when they celebrated his birthday.
This advice helped us a lot in life. Lawn grass is especially relevant for those places where it is not possible to lay a roll lawn, and leaving bare ground is ugly and impractical.
Grasses prevent weeds from rooting, prevent them from multiplying and growing.
The following grasses have demonstrated the best results in weed control:
1. Meadow bluegrass
This type of grass is very unpretentious, does not need special care, it tolerates frost well. With all this, meadow bluegrass effectively fights weeds.
2. Small-leaved clover
Other names for this herb are creeping clover or micro convection.
3. Red fescue
The main advantage of this herb is its simplicity.
4. Pole grass
It also helps to get rid of weeds, but this herb is very moisture-loving. If it is not regularly watered, the bent will quickly dry out.
Lawn mixes typically contain all four of these types of grass. The combination of plants allows for greater performance in weed control.
Advice! Remember to trim your grasses regularly so that they are no more than 5 centimeters tall. Then the weeds will not be able to break through the dense lawn.
Also, don't forget about prevention:
- Mow the lawn in a timely manner, observing all the rules.
- Get rid of dead, diseased plants.
- Water the herbs evenly and regularly, and feed them periodically.
