Nevertheless, there are difficulties, just many do not know about them. It turns out that the installation of flexible connections must be carried out according to certain rules. In the case of an illiterate installation, the consequences will be very negative.
In today's article, I decided to consider common mistakes that inexperienced installers make when working with flexible liners. The tips below will be very helpful and will help you avoid serious troubles such as leaks.
Down with the sealing material
Remember yourself how often, before installing the flexible liner, you wrap the thread with fum tape and only then tighten the nut. And this is still half the trouble, but if you use a sealing thread for these purposes, then the guard!
You need to remember once and for all that it is forbidden to do so. The hose nut has a special gasket. If you wind on the extra gasket, the nut will not press the gum properly!
Do not overtighten the nut
Many people believe that the nut should be tightened as tight as possible, as if this is the only way to achieve a reliable connection. I will tell you that you do not need to overtighten the nut, as the edges of the fitting, made of metal, can damage the gasket.
Even if this did not happen immediately, there is no guarantee that problems will not creep out over time.
Use a wrench to tighten the nut carefully. First, tighten it by hand, when you feel that the nut has rested, make one turn with the wrench. Believe me, it will be enough.
Connecting two hoses
Often the length of the liner is not enough, then inexperienced craftsmen decide to connect two hoses. For these purposes, they use bronze barrels. However, the rules say that such a connection is not allowed. Unfortunately, I could not find information why this should not be done.
My guess is that after a while the gaskets weaken. In addition, the service life of the flexible hose indicated in the technical documentation is 10 years. In reality, they rarely last longer than 5 years. Kegs fail much faster.
Hoses must not be kinked or too taut
This is one of the most common mistakes that leads to quick breakdown of flexible liners. It is impossible that the hose twisted, bentas it will be more difficult for water to pass through. It is also not permissible for it to be under tightness, otherwise the service life of the liner will be sharply reduced.
Make sure that the hose is in a free position, then problems can be avoided.
I also note that you cannot mount a flexible hose where the temperature can drop below zero. Never hang foreign objects on the hose, do not run the hose in the wall.
