Which snow blower to choose: electric or gasoline?

After snowfall, there is often a need to remove snow from household plots or industrial areas. In this case, the use of manual labor will be ineffective. In this version, it is better to immediately select the profile equipment in the form of snow blowers, which are found not only with gasoline engines, but also with electric ones.

In terms of compactness and lightness, electric shovels are highly rated. They are equipped with fairly compact buckets up to 30 cm long and no more than 12 cm high. This may seem small, but the track can be removed in two times, since this technique is often equipped with a powerful (up to 1.6 kW) electric motor and a plastic auger rotating at high speeds.

This allows you to throw snow at a fairly large distance - up to 5 meters. A plus should be attributed to the possibility of disassembling this equipment, as a result of which it easily fits in the trunk of any car.

In terms of power, wired or single-phase electric snow blowers win, in which the engine power can easily reach all 2 kW. At the same time, snow is guaranteed to be thrown over a distance of more than 6 m using a plastic auger, which makes it possible not to collect large snowdrifts near the cleaned area.

The plastic auger has additional reinforcement, which will be useful if it is suddenly exposed to physical stress. And the plastic auger is valuable in terms of practicality, since they are in no way capable of damaging the paving slabs.
The presence of a headlight on such equipment can be considered a big plus - you can remove snow even at dusk. In the top versions of this equipment, there may be an option for heating the handles, which will come in handy in frosty temperatures.

If the snow mass turns into ice (the snow removal time has passed irrevocably), then it is better to choose a gasoline snow blower.

The latter is equipped with a high-power engine, whose cubic capacity can reach 118 cm3. At the same time, a plastic or steel auger allows you to eject snow at a distance of up to 15 m. A steel auger is useful because it can easily rake ice without breaking.

Moreover, such equipment can be found on sale not only in the classical one-stage form, but also in the two-stage one. In the latter version, there is a rubber band that allows you to throw snow over a much greater distance. If you need to clear an industrial area or a wide street from snow and ice, then it is better to choose the latest version.
