Many gardeners have anthurium in their collection - a beautiful exotic plant, also called "male happiness". And for real professionals, this wonderful plant blooms all year round!

Secret # 1

Anthurium has aerial roots and naturally grows on trees. Therefore, ordinary soil will not suit him at all - the roots will begin to rot.

Anthurium prefers acidic soil, with tree bark and leaves. Orchid primer purchased from a specialist store is ideal. But you can prepare the substrate yourself, and I know several possible types of mixtures:

  • Take fibrous peat, pine bark, chopped moss, and turf in proportions 1/1/1/2.
  • Mix 1/5 of charcoal and pine bark.
  • Take leaf / coniferous soil, peat and coarse sand in proportions 1/1 /.

There are other recipes, the main thing to remember is that anthurium necessarily needs tree bark.

Secret # 2

The pot for male happiness must be taken small, since the growth of green mass and flowering begins in the plant after the growth of the roots. Don't forget to drain at the bottom of the pot to prevent stagnant water.

It is better to put anthurium by the window facing east. So the flower will receive the required amount of light and heat. Do not place the plant slide in a draft or near electrical appliances.

Secret # 3: Proper watering and moisture

Male happiness grows in tropical rainforests, so it is necessary to maintain appropriate conditions at home.

It is necessary to maintain constant air humidity, But don't overdo it, otherwise the roots of the plant will rot. You can place a pallet with damp pebbles under the pot. In addition, the leaves of anthurium need to be periodically wiped and sprayed, but moisture should not get on the inflorescences.

Water the plant often, but in moderation: with an excess of moisture, the leaves of the anthurium become covered with brown spots, and when dry, they become black. To prevent the soil from drying out, the soil surface can be covered with sphagnum.

Also use special preparations:

  • for flowering - Zircon (0.1 ml per 1 liter of water);
  • for transplant recovery - Epin (0.2 ml per 1 liter of water);
  • to stimulate growth - succinic acid (1 tablet per 1 liter of water);
  • for therapeutic prophylaxis - Fundazol (1.5 grams per 1 liter of water).

Take care of the anthurium correctly, and the wondrous plant will definitely give you happiness: it will bloom all year round!
