Why is it worth planting the Demidov tomato. It's strange that you haven't done it so far

  • Dec 10, 2020

In the garden, as in any creative project, there should be room for experimentation. Every year, I definitely put three or four "experiences" with new varieties of tomatoes. But for a guaranteed harvest, I use proven crops, which from year to year justify trust in any climatic conditions.

One of these varieties "for all time" is Demidov. It was bred by breeders specially for "risky farming" - growing outdoors in regions with an unstable climate - in the north of Russia, in Siberia and in the Far East.

For the lazy and overly busy

First of all, this plant is unique in that it practically does not require attention to itself during the cultivation process. Care is the most spartan: watering, weeding and loosening the soil. If desired, a primitive feeding.

Due to its short stature, the strong trunk of the Demidov does not require a garter. He "sweeps" himself: growing up to 60-70 cm, stops growing and is only engaged in the formation of abundant fruits. And thanks to the small foliage - his no need to pinch.

Variety resistant to disease and easily tolerates temporary drought. And if it suffers from freezing, it will quickly recover from the preserved stem on its own!

Ten unconditional pluses

  1. Seedlings do not outgrow. Sown in April, grows very quickly, without whims and tricks;
  2. Excellent fruit setting;
  3. Staggered ripening throughout the summer period, starting in mid-July;
  4. High yield - 11 kg per square meter!
  5. Excellent marketability of the fruit: calibratedness, absence of "ugly" fruits, resistance to cracking;
  6. Universal use due to the medium size (from 60 to 160 g) and the classic shape - rounded, slightly flattened;
  7. Excellent taste: the pulp is juicy, sweetish, indispensable for fresh consumption;
  8. Green fruits, collected if necessary ahead of time, ripen perfectly at room temperature, without losing their useful and taste qualities;
  9. Possibility of growing with thickening - up to 6 bushes per 1 square meter of the "golden" garden area;
  10. Only positive feedback from gardeners who have already "made friends" with this wonderful tomato and now never want to part with it!

If you still haven't pleased yourself with this favorite summer vegetable - it's time! Go for the seeds right now: you will definitely not regret it!
