The daughter brought a dry, nondescript "thorn" from the campaign. Who would have thought what a wonderful beauty would grow out of her in my flower bed

Knowing my passion for unusual plants, my relatives and friends have not given me roses and orchids for a long time - you will not surprise me with that! And when traveling to new places, they always bring something “like”. But the eldest daughter was especially surprised last spring when she brought a thorny "beast" from a hike with the class.

Holding an unsightly thorn in my hands, I had no idea what to do with it. The first thought was - just throw it away, but I didn't want to offend my daughter. I had to plant them in the far corner of the garden: an experiment is always interesting! I also scattered the seeds slightly in the same corner.

To be honest, at first the erythematosus (it was he) looked rather ridiculous among the blossoming flowers. But the unfriendly impression of the newcomer was formed only until he BLOWERED ...

When the bush was covered with blue flowers of an unusual shape, it became like a garden statue, striking from afar. The garden sparkled with new colors.

It turned out that Eringium is revered by gardeners all over the world. For its non-trivial beauty, it is often called the "Sea Holly", "Sea Holly" and "Eringo". Although the flowers can be not only blue, but also green, white and purple.

In addition to its beauty, the plant has three undeniable benefits.

  • Being, in fact, a weed, it does not require almost any maintenance;
  • This is a perennial that does not need to be tediously propagated by seedlings;
  • Possesses countless medicinal properties.

In the summer, a friend of mine came to admire the blooming garden. Seeing the blue "statue" she asked: "Do you know what kind of "pharmacy" grows in your flower bed?"I looked into the all-knowing Internet and was stunned: there are so many healing properties in one" thorn "?!

Since then, the whole family has been using erythematosus as a pain reliever. A decoction of its roots instantly relieves headaches and toothaches. And tincture better than any expensive ointment relieves joint pain.

Heals our "thorn" and the nervous system. Improves sleep, saves from depression.

In folk medicine, it is used to treat prostatitis, bronchitis, impotence, dropsy, asthma, conjunctivitis, stomach ulcers, periodontal disease. It is used as a diuretic and blood purifier, removes kidney stones, restores the menstrual cycle. Eringium perfectly relieves swelling of the extremities and treats various skin diseases - from psoriasis, allergies and dermatitis to eczema and skin tuberculosis. What a wonder of the world!

And in the old days in Russia, erythematosus was considered a magical plant: people believed that its dried flowers protect the house from the evil eye, damage and "thin" people.

For the second year, I admire this beauty and do not get tired of thanking my daughter for a wonderful gift brought in a backpack from a school trip...

Anticipating a lot of questions in the comments about where you can buy the seeds of this wonderful plant, I had to search the Internet long enough to save you time, dear readers. And I found it! Only two online stores. Here you can purchase seeds. And here Here you can buy a rhizome, it will be accepted for sure!
