And she was right! To be honest, I have not heard about this method before. But when I saw caterpillars on my head of cabbage of soft green color, it was necessary to save the cabbage in any way.

This plant is loved not only by people, but also by various pests: cabbage fleas, caterpillars of scoops, cabbage moths, white women. This time I spotted nasty hairy villains with brown and green stripes.

Caterpillars on cabbage

I can't even believe that such monsters will soon become butterflies. They crawled over my heads of cabbage and feasted on the leaves, making an openwork netting out of them.

On one head of cabbage we got to the stump itself. I decided to immediately follow my neighbor's advice:

  • In a bucket with a capacity of 10 liters, I squeezed out about 3 tablespoons of toothpaste with mint extract from a tube.
  • Stir the solution well until a cloudy suspension is obtained.
  • I filled the sprayer with the solution and immediately started processing.

I performed this procedure on a clear and windless day. The winged creatures took care of their offspring responsibly, laying more eggs. I processed each plant until the pests multiplied further and consumed the entire crop.

Apparently, the caterpillars didn't like this treat. After a while, they began to surrender from the cabbage patch. Having sniffed and swallowed food unpleasant for them, all the hairy individuals slowly but surely moved towards the flower garden, on the way to which, I had ornamental cabbage.

She spread her ruffled leaves over a long distance and looked a dazzling beauty.

Ornamental cabbage in all its glory :)

I simply did not allow to spoil such beauty, having sprayed it too. By the way, I acquired the seeds of this beauty here, maybe it will come in handy for you.

The method proved to be very effective and harmless to vegetables. The toothpaste, possessing bactericidal properties and a specific smell, scared away pests. The result was not long in coming - the whole process took place before my eyes. The caterpillars left the cabbage patch like a sinking ship.

Cabbage

At home, I found 3 tubes that were almost completely used up (I usually use the remains of the paste to remove greasy stains from clothes) and placed them in a bucket of water. After 2 days, the same cloudy solution was obtained. To be sure, I sprayed it again. I have not seen more of these multi-colored terminators on cabbage. I placed crushed eggshells near each plant so that no pest could get close to them.
