Recently, my wife has only started using paper towels in the kitchen. Considers that it is more convenient and profitable

As far back as I can remember, since childhood, the kitchen always had rag towels. My grandmother and mother had three of them, one for the dishes, the second to wipe off the table, the third for the hands. And at least there were 2 sets of these towels, one would get dirty, wash them, the second set to the kitchen, and so they alternated.

In modern life, our wife was the same, for the time being. But one day, when she came home from work, she fed me, and went to bed herself with a request that I would wash the dishes myself.

This is in principle normal, I often do my dishes and not only for myself, but for the whole family, when we eat together.

After eating, I went to the sink to wash the plate after me. I washed it, put it in the dryer, wanted to wipe my hands, but there were no towels.

I was surprised. Went with my wife to a showdown with a claim, where she is all the towels business.

To which he received a clear and intelligible answer: "I threw it out! These are relics of the past, from today we will use only paper towels, although they do not need to be washed, they wiped them off and threw them away. "

I personally do not care how to wipe my hands, I had to do it in the bathroom, even though there were towels left. Since, for some reason, my wife decided to use paper towels in the kitchen from today, but for some reason she did not prepare for this at all, and did not even buy a roll of paper towels.

The morning of the evening is trickier, so I did not enter into an argument and discussion with her, but postponed the conversation until tomorrow.

Waking up in the morning, the first thing I did was ask her what prompted her to make such a decision. The disposition of her spirit was good, she apparently slept well, and tried to give me arguments for the use of paper towels in the kitchen.

Here they are:

- plates and other dishes are easier to wipe with them, as moisture is absorbed into them much faster;

- they do not need to be washed, that is, to spend money on water and electricity, wiped them off and threw them away (For some reason, my wife believes that this can be saved, with which I strongly disagree. Cold water and electricity do not cost as much as paper towels, but did not argue);

- if you spill oil or ketchup, for example, then with paper towels you can calmly collect everything, after which you just throw them out again, but with with towels, an "ambush" may work, all the stains will be either greasy or from ketchup, and it is not a fact that these stains are washed off, then they will have to be thrown out;

- the service life of one towel is about a month, then an unpleasant smell starts to come from them, you have to buy new ones, and they are much more expensive than paper towels, continuous savings, so my wife considers.

Well, of course, the arguments are "iron", especially about electricity. I didn't argue, returning home in the evening I bought a package of paper towels, bought it at a good discount, let's see how much they last and how much more economical it will be to use them.

The fact that it is more convenient is an indisputable fact for me, but about the savings, I would definitely argue with my wife.

What kind of towels do you use in the kitchen, does anyone use paper towels? If so, is there any savings in this?
