About 8 years ago, Vodokanal services laid a central water supply highway along our street. At that time, the connection to the water supply system officially cost 78,000 rubles, today the cost is 112,000 rubles.
There are 112 houses in total along the street. Those who could afford such luxury crashed, there are only 27 of them. Three years ago, we were among them, having abandoned the well: me and a neighbor across the road!

One day I leave for work and find that there is no cover. I called a neighbor, he ran out - they began to look, on 5 hatches in a row in the night local alcotes were dragged away for scrap metal.
We, accordingly, chipped in, bought a new one. A week later, the situation repeated itself, they dragged him away again! And the neighbor is a welder... We began to figure out how to make an anti-vandal mechanism.
The second time only a fool can buy, they steal again. At the nearest metal reception they took a thick sheet of metal, cut out a circle. We drilled two holes opposite each other at the edges, a bolt is threaded into one and twisted into the body, the other is equipped with the same bolt welded with a nut, but has a free play. Now no one can take the hatch!
For the first few months, we climbed into the hatch every month and took readings. For the first six months, the average consumption for each family was developed, after which they successfully forgot about taking readings directly from the counters and filled out receipts at random, so as not to endlessly unscrew / screw cover.
Every six months, we checked the meters with the flow rate. Well, it somehow got into the habit of filling out the testimony and for two years already they had not climbed into the hatch.
And so, last week a water utility came in with a check! Every attempt we made to unscrew the bolt rusted tightly. I had to cut it off with a grinder!
The craftsmen climbed into the hatch and started checking. My counter with the consumption according to receipts coincided with + - 20 cubic meters, and the neighbor's counter did not coincide by 2100 cubic meters. - in favor of Vodokanal!
In two years, 2100 cubic meters, Karl! This pool must be for the whole yard in order to pump out so much water from the water supply! The marriage of the counter is obvious! But there are no checks, the documents on the counter are lost... So the neighbor had to pay for the difference and give 70,000 rubles without a guarantee case for the new year! Trash!
