Good afternoon, dear guests and subscribers of the "Build for Myself" channel!

My family and I rested not far from home. Friends invited us to a wedding - to a house that they rented for a couple of days. Since the territory is huge, while I was bypassing all the possessions, I came across such a structure (below the photo) - and this solution seemed to me very convenient as storage of firewood on the territory of your site:

The frame is made of a 50x150 board, all the nodes are knocked down neatly and the structure is covered with brown wood stain - it looks very stylish. The mesh back is made of a thin slat so that the wood does not fall out backwards. Rail 5 mm thick. stuffed with a mesh with a mesh of 25 cm.

The chopped logs lie not on the paving slabs, but on a knocked down wooden pallet so that the wood does not absorb moisture and does not get damp. The pallet is hidden behind the bottom bar of the frame, so it is not visible.

The solution is very economical, according to preliminary calculations, 7 boards 50 * 150 * 6000 are required, which is only 0.3 cubic meters. (I think that can be replaced with a 40 * 100 board easily, since the structure is decorative and takes the load only on the sides on the spacer).

Some places are planted with countersunk wood screws. Thus, a secret fastening is ensured without splitting the board.

Dimensions:

  • Depth: 80 cm.
  • Height: 220 cm.
  • Length: 200 cm.

Thus, the volume of firewood for storage is approximately 3.5 cubic meters.

There is no roof because the structure is under a canopy. But for a handy man, I think it will not be difficult to cover the structure with a small piece of slate or cellular polycarbonate with a backward slope so that water does not collect near the approach zone.

Found existing roof options that keep firewood dry:
