This is the second article on making stairs with your own hands.

In the first article, I described how I measured the openings and based on them I made a 3D project, calculated the height, length and width of the steps. Access article by reference: Metal frame project. DIY ladder # 1.

In the same material - to facilitate the construction of a metal frame, we will talk about transferring the design dimensions from the drawing to the walls, between which the stairs will be located in the future.

So, first of all, I prepared the necessary tools:

  • Roulette;
  • Bubble level;
  • Laser level;
  • Pencil / marker.

Next, I printed out drawings with the design dimensions of the metal frame. For my own convenience, I made drawings immediately in 3D from different angles (easier to perceive):

With the help of a tape measure, a level and a level, he made the markings first on the supporting wall. In my case: at the bottom - the staircase rests on the concrete floor of the first floor, the highest point is fixed to the interfloor overlap, intermediate fastening - fastening of the landing - is carried out into the load-bearing wall of the house with support legs in floor.

After marking the site, I project the frame onto the side brick partitions (the brick is not plastered, as it remains in the interior).

To facilitate the marking of the steps, first of all, from the lined area, I project a supporting element onto the wall - a channel (support for steps).

First flight of stairs - rise from the first floor to the landing:

The second part is the rise from the landing to the second floor:

It took about 4 hours to markup - a long time, several times wrong (first experience). It is not for nothing that they say "7 times measure - cut one."

That's it at this stage. It remains for me to buy metal and assemble a welded metal frame. But that's all in the next articles.

Thanks for attention!
