Greetings, dear guests and subscribers of my channel!

I recently wrote an article that we bought an old house in 1976 and a few years later living in it, I was surprised in the attic in the corner to find a "zagashnik" with a very ancient instrument of Soviet times.

This tool is:

If you are interested, my article can be read at the link: I bought an old house. After 3 years, I discovered in the attic tools from the Soviet era from the old owners

I don't know how long these tools were in the attic. I found out that the previous owner of the house also did not know anything about this, since I wanted to return it good to the person who owns it, but she refused, they say, it's not mine, and in general, why do I need it old stuff.

Of course, I asked a question to the neighbors down the street who have been living here for a very long time. And in our village, as elsewhere, I talked to one, and after a couple of days - everyone already knows. And so it happened, after about two months my wife heard a knock on the gate, at that time I was at work.

On the doorstep was a grandpa, about 70-75 years old, but "lively", I realized that when I saw him in the evening, after my work.

It turned out that this man, according to him, lived in this house with his sister, and when difficult times, in 1994 - they sold this house and left for a neighboring village to their second sister (in their family three kids).

The old man did not pretend to have found "pieces of iron", he didn’t need them, but only wanted to "ponastolg", therefore he came to look at the house that he built with his own hands 45 years ago.

Here is our home:

According to my calculations, he built it at the age of 25-30 and I figured out how at that time they managed to make an "iron" cement mortar. Since, when I put the Internet into the house, I did not have the patience to drill a cement seam and I made all the holes only in the brick:

Grandfather says that he did not use any additives at all: neither PVA, nor eggs, nor other folk methods. The technology is very simple and consists of 4 points.

So:

1. Well water was used for the masonry, which was settled for at least a day.

2. In the cement slurry, screening was necessarily used and the ratio was as follows: 1 tsp. cement: 3 tsp sand: 1 tsp dropouts. You can see this in the following photographs that I took in close-up:

The solution used fine-fine crushed stone (screening).

3. A day before the laying, the brick, brought in bulk, was stacked and a rag was laid between the rows. Further, in the evening the brick was poured over with ordinary water and covered. The rag did not allow the water to evaporate quickly, and the shelter provided a greenhouse effect. As a result, the brick was saturated with water before laying. Therefore, during masonry work, the material did not take moisture from the solution.

4. The laying was carried out from September to October, when there was no extreme heat.

That's the whole point of sturdy brickwork. The house is 45 years old, the foundation is 40 cm deep, made on rubble stones. This is despite the fact that the depth of freezing of the soil is 1 m.

This is how our grandfathers built... and there is no need to think out too much in the form of adding eggs and other additives, it is enough to follow the technology: pure water and cement mortar without its deficiency. Then everything will be - O.K.

Thank you for your attention, I hope you enjoyed the article !!!

"We breathed mold all the time?" - asked the wife. I ripped off the boards and crawled into the underground, which was without ventilation for 45 years
