Good day, dear guests!

This month, according to my plan, I have a task - to make a metal frame of the stairs in the house. The staircase fits into the opening very tightly, which does not allow swinging too much and every centimeter is important!

I will make the frame on my own, and since there is absolutely no experience in the production of staircase products, I am making an accurate project so as not to miss the size!

First of all, to calculate the stairs, the actual measurement of the opening was made: the height between floors on the finished floor and the width. Additionally, I take measurements of door and window openings, so as not to accidentally block them with a metal frame.

After sketching all the dimensions on paper, I transfer them to a program for modeling volumetric objects:

To determine the number of steps, it is necessary to know the height from the floor of the 1st floor to the floor of the 2nd floor and the interval of comfortable step heights for easy lifting.

I was helped by the following tablet from the Internet:

At the design stage, I wanted to avoid winders and have a flat landing, but without these steps I have the "critical angle" came out above 45 °, and gritting teeth, 4 run-in steps were added, after which the ascent angle was 36,5°.

Winders are made with equal angles (180°/5 = 36° each)

Further, knowing the height of the floor and the height of the step (in my case, 185 mm.), We get the number of steps (3330(floor height) /185(step height)= 18 pcs.) and spread them evenly along the entire length of the lift. After these actions, we get the width of the tread (the depth of the step).

So, based on the results of the calculation, the following values were obtained (below in the photo):
tread = 25 cm.,
step width = 29 cm. (including overhang 4 cm.)
step rise = 18.5 cm.

After I have decided on the calculated data, I proceed to drawing the 3D model:

Since the entrance door to the bathroom is located under the stairs, at this stage it is required to make sure that the constructed staircase dimensions satisfy the door opening path.

After assessing the height of the staircase above the door opening (adjustment of the staircase height was not required), I proceed to drawing my metal frame:

As guiding bearing support elements for steps - I will use 12th channel (120 mm.). For the manufacture of steps - corner 50 mm. and racks for supporting the structure on the floor - steel square 80 mm. * 80 mm.

The 12th channel was not chosen by chance. The ladder will be fastened only to the floor and to the outer wall of the house in the area of the winders. It is forbidden to anchor on the sides, since the staircase is surrounded on both sides by partitions in a half-brick on a separate foundation.

The metal will be joined by welding - on our own, therefore I do not draw the details of the fasteners in the project and I will determine them in place.

In order not to cut the corner at 45 degrees, I will weld the steps according to the following scheme:

All stages of design and installation of a metal frame - I will definitely describe on my channel!
