Why choose bottom connection steel radiators? (5 arguments)

  • Dec 10, 2020

Good afternoon, dear guests and subscribers of the "Build for Myself" channel!

The process of choosing heating radiators was difficult for me, since there are a lot of manufacturers, the materials from which the radiators are made are also different, and the characteristics of the heating devices are a lot.

Thanks to a friend who professionally deals with heating, I nevertheless made a choice in favor of steel radiators with a bottom connection, the advantages of which I would like to share with you.

I have identified 5 main advantages, 2 of which relate to the manufacturing technology, 2 to the bottom connection, and the last one is the price of the issue, so:

1. Design

Steel radiator whether it be with a side or bottom connection - this is a monolithic structure without gaskets between the sections, since there are none at all. The main heating element is the panel. All units and feeds are made on welded seams. Also - a rather pleasant view, since the sections are already boring to me.

2. Mount and mounting kit

Compared to sectional radiators, to steel radiators - you do not need to buy an installation kit: all plugs and Mayevsky's tap are included (we save 500 rubles). Also, the set includes fasteners to the walls. Mounting - two-sided, you can choose the distance of equipment installation from the wall: 3 or 5 cm.

Now about the bottom connection ...

3. Temperature control

Bottom connection radiators from the factory complete with thermostatic valve and this is a huge plus. It remains to buy only a thermostatic regulator and you can not spend money on the valve (saving about 700 - 1000 rubles)

4. Appearance

After connecting to the heating system, the pipe connections on the sides are not visible, which is important for the aesthetics of the heater. The node sits neatly at the bottom of the panel.

5. The cost

Let's compare the cost of a radiator using the example of one size range, for which we take a product with a standard height of 500 mm. and a width of 700 mm. As proof, I give my account:

Price for a steel radiator with bottom connection: 4045 rubles. + thermal head 400 rubles. + lower connection node 720 rubles, total: RUB 5,165

Now we take a budget 7-section aluminum radiator (with an average price per section - 400 rubles), we get 2,800 rubles. + mounting kit RUB 500 + valve and thermal head 1200 rubles. + fittings for connection 300 rubles. = RUB 4 800

The price of the issue is 365 rubles, but we get an aesthetically pleasing appearance and a monolithic heating device with a minimum number of possible leaks.

Of course, the choice is yours, my task in this article is to give the arguments that became fundamental for me when choosing equipment!
