Good afternoon, dear guests and subscribers of the "Build for myself" channel!
When we bought an old house, the previous owners left a lot of fruit trees. Of these, on the territory of the site there are several apple trees, pears, plums and 5 large mature berry trees - cherries. We removed some of the trees, leaving the stumps for further uprooting, as we have plans to improve the area and put up a pool.
They stood for exactly two years and turned into rotten stumps.
Yesterday my youngest child, my son, walked around the site and I decided to play with him, who would have the strength to pull out the old stump.
They pulled, staggered, kicked, and now the kid turned out to be stronger than dad and won :-))) He pulled out 3 stumps!
Digging holes left by stumps - in the black soil, I was surprised to find some kind of white caterpillars as long and as thick as a finger. Having pissed a little with a stick in the pit, they began to crawl out in dozens. We counted about 20 of them.
After I put the stumps one by one, I saw that they also live in bundles in the trunk of the stump. I immediately began to search the Internet for what kind of caterpillars they were. At the first request, it points to a bear larva, but somehow it doesn't look like it, then I read that these are the larvae of the May beetle.
Moves are driven far and wide. Burrows in the trunk are everywhere. According to electronic encyclopedias, at this age, the larva will still be 7-14 days, and then it turns into an insect.
I didn't know that bugs appear in this way until I read the Internet and was a little taken aback by what kind of mutant beast it was. He brought it, showed it to his wife, she also does not know, and even shouted "fuuu, get her out of here !!!"
The white film is well translucent, through which you can see the furry wings.
So, beetles appear from such huge animals.
Thanks for attention! I think it was interesting!
