I do not use sills on the screws at the tile-laminate joint. The seller advised a worthy replacement: T-threshold [my photos]

Good afternoon, dear guests and subscribers of my channel!

There remain the finishing touches in the house and, as practice shows, little things take much more time than rough work.

Today, the article will be devoted to the sills, which I have chosen for a very long time from the variety of solutions.

In addition to the fact that I was faced with a shortage of color solutions, there is also a visual problem, namely, all the fasteners are visible and this is very striking. Almost all counters are overflowing with just such sills that are attached to screws without hiding them.

And what's even sadder is that such fasteners are loosened from frequent use of the floor and the heads of the screws can cling to shoes, tights and socks.

In one of the small shops, the seller advised me to buy a T-threshold, which snaps into a special tire. This is the look of the structure in cross section:

In the picture above, from top to bottom: Aluminum T-saddle, solid rubber insert (seal), tire.

The bus looks like this:

What is very strange, I have not met them in any large building market, although I studied such solutions very carefully.

Such sills have one very important feature: the tire must be mounted during the laying of the tiles, since it has projections for fixing. When the last row of tiles is left for the tiler, the tire is inserted under the tile and fixed with glue:

Such sills have a variety of sizes and it is possible to overlap tiles-laminate and tile-parquet joints with a gap of 15 mm or more. up to 80 mm.

Installation is carried out in two steps.

1. We put on a rubber seal on the sill:

2. We fix the product in the tire, gradually pressing down along the entire length.

The construction is held very securely due to the teeth on the inside of the tire and the rubber insert. Importantly, the height of this nut is no more than 2 mm. and has a flat shape. It looks great.

Due to the material (aluminum), it is easy to cut and grind without leaving any sharp edges, and it is also easy to cut at various angles.

Place for a fireplace in the hall. In my opinion, very neat:

Dear Readers!
The article is not an advertisement for any brands of these products and does not serve any commercial purpose. I am only describing the solution that in my opinion is better than the rest.

I hope that you not only liked the article, but also became useful to you!

Thanks for attention!
