The article answers the question "why am I doing everything myself?" Yes, because if a master who is part of these worthy professionals is not caught, then it is impossible to come to an agreement with him normally and there are no guarantees of anything.
My story with the tiler
I was looking for a tiler for a very long time, even the walls had not yet been plastered in the bathroom. And, at first glance, I accidentally turn up a very good and intelligent person. I explain over the phone what I need to do: tiles on the floor, tiles on the walls, shower enclosure and a few special points. It would seem that the volume is normal, in a week the master can cut down 30-40 thousand, especially the large molding of slopes and outer corners + there are non-standard nodes.
Here is my s / node:
- by floor - 5.5 sq.m.,
- walls 16 sq.m.,
- shower corner 8 sq.m.
I make an appointment with the tiler, come, assess the scope of work and say:
- Uncomplicated floor - for 650 rubles / sq. I will put it, shower room - granite on the walls - for 750 rubles, walls - small tiles (boar) - 1000 rubles. per square. Outside corner - 400 rubles. per line / m.
If this price suits you, he says, then in 4 days on Saturday at 9 am I will be with you.
I am fine! Deal! (I was very happy that I didn't have to wait long for the master and 4 days - that's just fine. As a result, according to the calculations, the bathroom came to me about 35,000 rubles).
Parallel events
On Thursday, a couple of days before Saturday, a friend calls me: "Let's go fishing tomorrow," I assess the situation and agree to go. Departure on Friday morning, night in a tent and at 7 am you can move back (130 km) to be at home by 9 am, just as the tiler leaves.
I call the tiler on Friday, make sure that the deadlines are still met and ask him for recommendations on tile glue, which crosses, corners and other little things to buy. On the way to fishing, I buy all the materials I need and throw them in the trunk.
We come to the river, decomposed, but there is no bite. And so on all Friday. I set up my tent because I got up early, I need to get enough sleep, and my friend stayed on the shore to fish. I hear him calling me: get up, it's already 6:30 in the morning, the bite has gone and shows the carp:
I, while there is time, also throw in the donk and while the fishing rod is standing, I collect the manat in the trunk, the tiler will come in 3 hours :-))))), and go another 130 km.
Of course, I did not catch anything that there were these 15-20 minutes. I packed up and left to meet a decent man.
I'm coming.
9-00, 10-00, already 11-00, there is still no master. I call - he does not answer. My friend has already caught 6 carp, but I don’t know who, I’m waiting for someone.
That covered me that morning, I tore and threw at that moment :-)))
Both my wife and my friend called, and I called from the second SIM-card - the beeps go, but no one answers!
This is the situation! And how can you trust the masters after such fools? When I come to an agreement, my conscience simply does not allow me to do it differently. Even if I miscalculated and named the wrong amount, I don’t change anything, since there is a contract with the person! Man counts on it!
As a result, I laid the tiles myself, as I did almost the whole house :-))) I was just afraid to mess with tiles, but everything turned out well!
Here's a story, I think with a good ending, but I spent a lot of time laying the tiles, as I did it for the first time!
I have not written anything against the builders for a long time, but this situation still haunts. Whom I offended, I apologize... It's just not clear if you are a normal person, call, refuse, in extreme cases - come up with some legend so as not to come, but in to confirm your readiness on Friday, and then not pick up the phone and leave hope to the customer - yes, this is stupid and does not deserve at all respect!
And then they also say that the customers are unscrupulous ...
