Good afternoon, dear guests!

3 days ago, I finished installing the guardrail and handrails for my staircase. In this article, I would like to talk about the costs of this design and dwell on those points where you can really save a good amount. Hope this information is helpful to you.

Here's a staircase:

Finished the stairs. Valuable personal experience: how to save up to 50% on everything? (welded frame, steps, fencing)

To begin with, I will collect in a heap on this topic all the articles scattered around my channel :-))) I thought that maybe someone would like to delve into the construction process in detail and clearly understand the sequence of all work performed, 60-70% of which he did his own hands.

All my articles in order:

1. How I made a staircase project on a metal frame (Article №1)

2. Transferring the design dimensions to the walls (Article No. 2)

3. What time did the metal for the stairs come out? (Article No. 3)

4. Metal staircase. Frame in your hands (No. 4)

5. The welder found 3 errors in my frame (# 5)

6. A friend of an acquaintance of an acquaintance came to the installation of the steps and each intermediary took his share

7. Contrary to the assessment of the master, made the fence of the stairs 2 times cheaper

So it all started with a project ...

I did the project myself and for this there is a free program for modeling 3D objects - Sketchup (downloaded from the Internet in 5-10 minutes), which is very understandable at an intuitive level and in 3-5 hours even a beginner can master its functions.

Project:

An important feature for building a staircase is to calculate the number of steps, their optimal height and width for a comfortable climb.

After building the stairs and approval of the appearance by his wife, the project is printed and the outline of the stairs is transferred to the walls using a level, tape measure and a pencil. Costs = 0 rub.

After that, I counted and bought the metal. All that remained was to cut the purchased channel bars and corners, cover with a primer and weld the frame. Here are my expenses:

After 3 weeks of work in the evenings after the main work, the following design was obtained:

Of course, the work of a professional craftsman cannot be compared with mine, but at this stage I saved about 40,000 rubles, and I successfully cleaned the bloopers on the welded seams with a grinder (grinder). Yes, I killed 2 discs for metal, but this is far from "40 thousand".

Here, I would like to make a reservation that if you do not know how to use welding, the frame can be made on welded point tacks - you will definitely get them. And also, if you still boil and doubt your welded seams, ask any welder to strengthen the seams, it will cost 1.5-2 thousand and he will be done in 2-3 hours. But, you will sleep well.

Further, I met a man through, oddly enough, Avito, who has a garage production and makes wood products no worse than factory ones. He came to me, measured all the steps. After that, we went to the timber yard together and bought wood - beech. In two weeks - the master glued, painted and varnished all my 17 steps for me, which cost 49,000 rubles. If we take them ready-made in the same Leroy, it came out to me 56,000 rubles. - and these are only bare steps - without painting (Here the savings are obvious).

Hence, advice: you need to look for guys who are engaged in production themselves, and not intermediary organizations, such as stores.

I did not dare to install the steps myself, because if I spoil at least one, I have to go again, wait, pay and waste time. The installation was carried out by the comrades of the same master who made the steps and other components.

Installation cost - 18,000 rubles.

Further, it remained to make a fence, which I started only 2 months later, since I was still doing parallel work: tiles in bathrooms, kitchen assembly, laying laminate, gluing wallpaper, and so on.

On the fence, I also saved 20 thousand. The master who calculated the fences for me announced 54,000 for the posts, railings, forging and their installation.

I did the following: I found an organization that deals with forged and stamped elements and their retail outlets. They have goods for every taste and color. and wallet :-))).

Counter photo:

I got 20 of these elements, welded on mounting heels and painted over them:

Metal came out to me at 9,000 rubles. cheaper than finished products offered by the master. All wooden fences and railings, I also ordered from beech from the same person already familiar to me with Avito.

After everything was ready, I did the editing myself, as I already understood after the steps mounted by the master that there is nothing complicated here (the devil is not so terrible as he is painted).

As a result, all the fences cost me 22,500 rubles:

In detail, I have described each stage in the articles that I gave at the beginning of this publication.

The total cost of the ladder is as follows:

  • Project, markup = 0 rubles.
  • Metal, electrodes, primer, fasteners = 22 400 rubles.
  • Steps, risers, plinths and small components made of beech = 49,000 rubles.
  • Their installation = 18,000 rubles.
  • Fencing, handrails = 22,500 rubles.

TOTAL: 111 900 rubles.

From the author

Undoubtedly, in order to reduce the cost of the entire structure, I had to run and look. But, for organizations that carry out turnkey staircases, it cost: a project of 20,000, a 60,000 frame, 90,000 steps and installation, a 44,000 fence, which would go under 220 thousand rubles. I think you can run for a hundred square meters.

In fact, it turns out that you assemble the entire structure yourself in parts: here is one thing, there is another, what I could - I did myself, what I could not - I paid. But, the result is obvious - it is almost half cheaper.

PS

When writing, I tried not to overload the article much, since all the nuances have already been described in previous materials.

I hope you enjoyed it, and moreover, it became useful!
