This article compares Schneider Electric Sedna and Legrand Valena series electrical outlets and switches.
I selected products based on the ratio of price and quality. I was not chasing the prestigious and elite series, for me it is useless. I got more affordable and affordable products. Both series from different manufacturers are very similar.
Legrand purchased for children's rooms, Schneider for all others. Legrand Valena is 27% more expensive. If the cost of Schneider for the whole house is 19,200 rubles, then Legrand is 24,500 rubles. for 71 points.
So, further in the photo: Legrand Valena - on the left, Schneider Sedna on the right.
Let's start with aesthetics: Legrand has a more voluminous frame body and, accordingly, extends more beyond the wall plane.
In addition to the bulge, the frame dimensions are also larger by 2-3 mm. on each side.
For me, the Schneider frame looks a little neater, but loses in color. Both products in the catalog are white, but Legrand's color is warmer and more pleasant.
The appearance of sockets and switches is almost the same, but Schneider, as already described the size of the frame, is a little more compact, and I confess, looks better on the wall.
Mechanism
As for the plastic, yes, Schneider Electric has it thinner and the sound of the switch key is more sonorous. It can be described as a "cheap" click compared to the dull sound of Legrand, but if there is nothing to compare with, then the sound is normal :-)))
The wire clamps for both series are available both screw and screwless. The Legrand mechanism is seemingly more reliable, and in general it is more pleasant to work with it when setting points, but, rather, it does not matter, since I installed it and forgot it, and both products work as expected.
The metal for attaching the product to the socket outlet from Schneider Electric is thinner, but despite this, both positions are fastened securely.
For me, Legrand is a little more pleasant to install and operate, unlikeSchneider Electric, but the latter looks more compact and more beautiful on the wall, moreover, it is almost 30% cheaper. So, the choice is only yours!
