Why did I save money and install a stabilizer of less power in the house than the power of all electrical appliances?

Good afternoon, dear guests and subscribers of the "Build for myself" channel!

The electrical installation in the house is over and I am moving on to assembling the electrical panel. To protect electrical appliances from surges and voltage fluctuations, a wall-mounted relay voltage stabilizer Wester STW5000 (5000 VA / 4000 W), thus, based on its characteristics - the maximum load on this device should not exceed 4 kW., Otherwise it turns off.

The rating of the input machine installed in the dashboard is controlled by local power engineers and is 25A. Therefore, its value limits the power of the connected electrical appliances in the house to 5.5 kW. (P = I * U = 25 * 200 = 5500 W).

In our settlement, 5 kW is allocated for each household under an agreement with Energosbyt, and a greater value is unacceptable. Local government order.

It turns out that the maximum load of electrical appliances in the house is 5.5 kW, and the stabilizer is 4 kW. But why? After all, the correctly selected stabilizer power should have a recommended margin of 30% of the total energy consumption, i.e. for at least 5.5 kW, the stabilizer must ensure the connection of devices by 7 kW.

The whole point is that not all electrical equipment used requires voltage stabilization, and it turns out that we throw out money for the extra purchased kilowatts. Thus, it is enough to connect the stabilizer only to those circuit breakers in the panel on which equipment hangs that has a risk of exit out of order due to a voltage surge, in other cases the stabilizer will take the load on itself of those devices that are not at all critical fluctuations.

At the moment, our network voltage is 210-240 V, jumps are very rare, the lighting lamps do not flicker, so in our house only two TVs, a refrigerator, a washing machine and a heating boiler require voltage stabilization, which in terms of total power is 3.5 kW.

The rest of the devices are controlled by a voltage relay.

Yes, it is unpleasant when, during the races, the lamp starts to shine dimmer or flicker, but in the toilet, in the bedroom, in the attic or in the hallway, it does not matter, why put an extra load on the stabilizer.

Of course, in those settlements where power lines are in poor condition and surges are observed very often, and the network voltage does not rise above 160-170 V (and this happens) - only there it is necessary to install such equipment on the entire intra-house network, in other cases, I advise you not to overpay and select stabilizers for the necessary protection equipment.
