Good afternoon, dear guests and subscribers of the "Build for Myself" channel!
Since 2017 I am building my own house, to which this channel is dedicated. For 3 years I have acquired almost all "host set" from power tools:
- Angle grinder;
- a circular saw;
- jigsaw;
- electric and chainsaws;
- screwdriver;
- puncher;
- grinder;
- vacuum cleaner.
Maybe I forgot something else, but not the point.
And, there is one only tool that, for me, turned out to be so completely useless - this is a jigsaw, bought for 3.5 tr. 3 years ago.
Believe it or not, it was bought in 2017. and I took it out of the case only two times:
1. Recently I made a plane for my child out of plywood.
2. I tried to cut plywood in the process of flooring, then I spat and took out a circular.
Most people have a jigsaw, but I don't understand why I needed it and why others are buying it?
Perhaps for those people who are engaged in curly wood carving or making curved elements - he necessary, and most often - they use an ordinary band saw, it is much more convenient for it to cut a curved elements.
Or, I suppose that the jigsaw is an "apartment circular saw"!
Why couldn't I find a use for the jigsaw?
If you need to cut something off - there is a circular or chain saw. It will be much faster and smoother than a jigsaw.
The entire rafter system and wooden floors using plywood are made exclusively with circulars.
Please share who uses the jigsaw and where? Even elementary, it is impossible to make an even cut with a jigsaw without special priblud, the blade walks, isn't it? And all this is long.
I bought it, I thought it would come in handy, but it wasn’t useful. Lies in his briefcase and waits for better times.
I have prepared a list of tools that replaced the jigsaw for me during the construction process. More precisely, they were not replaced, but were used for their intended purpose:
Round holes - crowns, cuts along, across and in the center of the sheets - circular or chain saw. Everything! I didn't have any carvings and the jigsaw was completely useless.
Friends, this is a personal opinion and attitude towards the instrument, do not judge strictly...
Perhaps I have not yet come across a situation where no tool can replace a jigsaw, so I pack it and put it on the far shelf - let it lie :-)))
Hope this article was helpful to you. Thanks for attention!
