Among other things, yesterday I ordered a network cable tester on Aliexpress. In the morning, my brother called after reading my post and said that I bought the wrong tester - there is a much better model.
Fortunately, the seller did not have time to send the order I made yesterday and I canceled it.
The tester for $ 3.42, which I ordered, performs exactly one function: on the main unit, lights run from 1 to 8 to circle and on an additional unit connected through the cable under test should run in the same way lights. If some does not light up, the wire is broken, if the wrong one lights up than on the main unit, the wires are reversed.
M726AT Advanced Tester costs $ 5.31 and can do much more.
Firstly, it has three modes - two speeds of "running lights" and a manual mode, when switching to the next wire does not occur automatically, but by pressing a button. Anyone who has used a regular LAN tester will agree that it is convenient.
Secondly, it can be used without an additional unit and it is very convenient - the two ends of the cable are stuck into the main unit and the running lights are next to each other.
Thirdly, it has connectors for testing USB A-B cables, but this is unlikely to be needed.
Another unobvious plus of this tester is that it has an electronic, not mechanical switch. How many Crowns have I ruined by forgetting to turn off the usual tester! And then (I hope) after a while the tester will turn off by itself and will not let the battery run out.
The battery in the new tester, alas, is the same Krona.
I put the new tester in the basket. When there are new coupons or sales, I will buy. It doesn't burn me.
