And again about battery leakage

  • Dec 11, 2020

A month ago I wrotethat it is almost impossible to come across an unused, leaky alkaline battery. I was wrong.

After my "Grand Battery Test" (https://ammo1.livejournal.com/573394.html), which I did in 2014, there are some batteries left. For more than five years, they lay in a closet in a box at room temperature. Today, when I opened this box, I found that several batteries were leaking.

Era Sport Ultra Alkaline AA, expiration date 07.2020. One battery is badly leaked, the other is fine.

Era Energy Super Alkaline AA, expiration date 02.2020.

Lexman Alkaline AA, expiration date 08.2018. One leaked, the other did not.

Space Alkaline AA, expiration date 10.2020. Has flowed slightly.

Diall, Navigator, two Energizer, Duracell, Cosmos Premium Rockets batteries did not leak.

However, this does not mean at all that these batteries cannot leak. A month ago I showed a very leaking Energizer Maximum battery.

Moral: any batteries, including alkaline (alkaline), and including the most expensive can leak. Most likely this can happen after a long storage or after a long time in low-consuming devices.
