How many electrodes with a diameter of 3 mm in a pack weighing 1 kg and 5 kg

Friends, I welcome everyone!

He worked as a welder for 13 years, but I never thought about how many electrodes are in pieces in 1 kg and 5 kg packs. At the end of the working day, for the sake of curiosity, I decided to find out, still tomorrow I need to print a new pack weighing 5 kg.

When you open such a pack, the electrodes are in bulk in the center, but along the outer diameter all electrodes are glued to two wide tapes, glued well, you have to tear off almost one by one.

One electrode with a diameter of 3 mm, together with a coating, has a thickness of 5 mm. I knew this for a long time, and this information will help us not to count all the electrodes one by one, see what we will do.

Roll out all the electrodes on the surface of the metal sheet in one layer, but so that they are tightly to each other. Here's a canvas turned out!

I just measured the length of this canvas with a tape measure. It turned out 905 mm, now we divide this number by 5, because the thickness of one electrode is 5 mm.

We get the desired number, this is 181, that's how many pieces will be in a 5 kilogram pack.

Accordingly, to find out the amount in a pack of 1 kg, we divide 181 by 5, we get 36.2, rounded to 36 - this amount in a pack of 1 kg.

5kg-181 electrode

1kg-36 electrodes

This pack will go away in a couple of days, the Kamaz trailer was brought in for repair. It is necessary to weld all the sides and weld problem areas, grain harvesting soon.
