Let's talk today about shoes when welding. When welding or working with a grinder, sparks will always fall on the shoes. From this, even though your shoes are stitched with high quality, the threads will burn out and it will fail very quickly.
Today I stopped by the market and bought new work boots, although I prefer boots without laces, but surprisingly no one had them for sale.
The boots are good, they are glued and stitched with high quality, but as always, I will additionally protect the threads from burns by sparks when welding.
A tube of glue of the moment will help us. I also bought it from the market along with the boots. See what we need glue for.
We simply glue the thread seam that attaches the sole to the leather base of the boots. We fill in a thicker recess in a circle in which the firmware is located. This will create a protective layer from sparks.
Also, using cotton swabs, we will go through all the other firmware on the boots. While the shoes are new and clean, the glue adheres well to the surface and a protective layer is obtained.
It will also be useful to grease the laces with glue. You should not do this completely, but lubricate about half, which will be closer to the nose of the boots, the second half will still be closed by the leg of the jeans - the jeans are very comfortable and durable in welding work.
That's it, let the glue dry and form a protective crust. If these simple manipulations are not done, the threads will burn out very quickly and you will have to repair or buy new ones. A tube of glue costs 15 times less than shoes and is enough for several times to completely go through all the seams of the thread.
