The processing of the aboveground parts of strawberries is carried out on a cloudy day. It is better to perform the action in the morning or late at night, following these rules:
- Fertilizing can only be done after thoroughly watering the strawberries.
- The action begins with the treatment of young stems and leaves.
- To increase yields, strawberries should be fed during the flowering stage.
- As an effective top dressing for spring spraying, a solution with the introduction of boric acid is used.
The following procedure is performed at the flowering stage. It starts in early June. During this period, plants need potash compounds that improve their appearance and promote the formation of large and sweet berries. Also, after such processing, the crop will be stored longer.
With a deficiency of potassium, the tips of the leaves are covered with brown spots. If you do not have time to apply fertilizer, the harvest will be at risk.
When choosing folk dressings that are used at the budding stage, the following options can be considered:
- Wood ash. Contains a large amount of valuable trace elements. It is used in early spring. An ash solution is prepared for root processing. It is created from 1 liter of ash, infused in a bucket of water, and is used to water each bush. It protects strawberries from common diseases. When dry or damaged leaves appear, the bush is powdered with ash.
- Iodine. The folk remedy is characterized by a powerful antiseptic effect. It can be used to treat and feed strawberry bushes at the budding stage.
- Bread crusts. In order to stimulate the growth and development of strawberries, you can use the yeast found in rye bread. The solution is prepared from 1 loaf of bread or crusts soaked in 1 liter of heated liquid. After a week of fermentation, the mixture is diluted with a bucket of water and used for foliar spraying.
