What elements are needed for peppers

You can't use nutrients often, this will lead to an excess of them. As a result, problems will arise: the growth of the green part of the plant will accelerate, at the same time, the yield will decrease. When choosing the period of fertilization, the stages of development of peppers are taken into account: strengthening of green mass, development of shoots, the appearance of flowers and fruit ovaries. Consider mineral fertilizers that can be used as top dressing to enhance the growth of plantings in the greenhouse:

  • nitrogen: helps to increase green mass;
  • phosphorus: with its participation, the root system develops normally, at the same time, the laying of fruit ovaries, their timely ripening is ensured;
  • potassium: when it is deficient, the shape and color of the peppers change, the fruits become smaller;
  • magnesium: this element is essential for the root system.

Features of feeding pepper, the choice of the drug

Useful substances should be introduced no earlier than 2 weeks after planting in the ground (when transplanting seedlings into a greenhouse). To increase the volume of green mass, nitrogen is added. In this case, feeding peppers is carried out mainly with the help of urea, ammonium nitrate. Moreover, the first of the funds is delivered by irrigating the ground part of the plant. This is the best way to promote green mass growth. If the dressing is in the form of a powder, it must be scattered over the surface of the soil.

Ammonium nitrate is as effective as urea. However, the remedy is more aggressive. For this reason, it is not used for feeding dry peppers. It is noted that the best method of fertilizing is by root. Scheme: prepare a solution of 10 liters of water and 1 tbsp. l. saltpeter, water the plantings with liquid, but not earlier than after 2 weeks. It is important to repeat the procedure after 14 days in the same way. To avoid the appearance of burns of green mass, top dressing is performed only in the morning and evening hours.

The next step is to feed the peppers before the flowers appear - in early summer. Fertilizers containing phosphorus and potassium are used. You can mix superphosphate and potassium sulfate. Each of the components is used in the amount of 1 tbsp. l. The mixture is added to water (10 L). It is necessary to fertilize twice: before the appearance of flowers and at the stage when the ovaries begin to form. There is another remedy - potassium humate. It is used to prepare a solution: 3 g per 10 liters of liquid. But it is not recommended to combine this type of fertilizer with phosphorus. Pepper bushes are watered with a solution of potassium humate three times: before flowering, the formation of ovaries and during fruiting.

When the fruits ripen, agents containing potassium and nitrogen are used. Such components contain potassium nitrate. To prepare the solution, use 15 g of dry matter and 10 liters of water. Top dressing of peppers is carried out directly under the bush. If there are signs of nitrogen deficiency in the soil, ammonium sulfate is added. At the fruiting stage, various substances are used. These include sulfur - it helps to extend the fruiting period, has a positive effect on peppers. Sulfur is added to mulch (up to 40 g per 1 m). The described products are not dangerous for plantings. They are quickly distributed in the soil, absorbed by the planting tissues.
