Large sweet berries will grow on strawberry bushes, if you feed the plantings in a timely manner during flowering. At each stage of the growing season, plants need different elements; during the formation of peduncles and ripening of fruits, there may not be enough fertilizers applied in the spring. To get a rich harvest, we feed the strawberries correctly during flowering.

Root dressing
During the formation of peduncles, plantings need a large amount of potassium. Organic and inorganic feedings are used as a source of this element. Rooting strawberries involves watering the soil around the plants with nutrient solutions.
Inorganic agents (dosage for dissolution in 10 l of water):
- potassium nitrate (1 tsp. l.);
- iodine (10 drops);
- complex with boric acid, potassium permanganate and ash (2 g, 2 g and 1 tbsp., respectively).
You can feed the strawberries with the preparation "Ovyaz", all trace elements are present in this product. In order not to burn the root system of the bushes, it is important to follow the instructions for use.
You can feed the plantings during active flowering with organic plant fertilizers, which include the preparations "Gummi" and "Baikal M1" (they do not contain chemical components).
You can make your own fertilizer on a natural basis:
- Chicken droppings are poured with water (2.5 kg is needed for 10 liters). During the day, the mixture is insisted, stirring from time to time. The finished concentrated solution is diluted with water in a ratio of 1:20.
- Ash. Mix 1 liter of boiling water with 1 tbsp. wood ash. After cooling, the solution is filtered.
Chicken droppings increase the nutritional value of the soil, ash prolongs the fruiting period. These fertilizers should not get on the strawberry bushes as they may damage them.
The consumption of all nutrient solutions is approximately 500 ml per plant.
Bushes processing
Foliar treatment during flowering involves spraying the aerial part. Nutrients are delivered through the leaves. Feed strawberries effectively with inorganic solutions (diluted with water):
- boric acid (1 g per 1 l);
- potassium sulfate or potassium permanganate (2 g per 1 liter);
- potassium nitrate (1 tsp. l. 5 l).
Another way is to feed the bushes during flowering with complex additives ("Agros", "Hera", "Ruby"). The rules for use and dosage are specified in the instructions for use.
From vegetable dressings during the flowering period of strawberries, nettle tincture is useful:
- freshly harvested plants are chopped;
- pour 10 liters of hot water (+ 50... + 60 ° С);
- insist during the day;
- diluted 1:10.
Yeast helps make strawberries more hardy during flowering. You can feed dry strawberries in sachets. After dissolving in warm water, add 2 tbsp. l. Sahara. The mixture is diluted with 10 l of water and infused for 2 hours.
To obtain the maximum positive effect, it is important to observe the dosage of fertilizers and the concentration of the components during self-preparation. Otherwise, the solution will either not work or harm the plant. Correct feeding is the key to successful cultivation of strawberry bushes.
