Plum and cocoa jam turns out to be bright, aromatic and healthy. For 1 liter of jam, the following ingredients are measured:

  • fruits - 1.5 kg;
  • sugar - 0.5 kg;
  • cocoa powder - 5 tbsp. l.

The amount of granulated sugar can be either reduced or increased. It depends on the ripeness, variety, sweetness of the fruit and personal taste preferences. The amount of cocoa can also be varied to suit your taste.

Of the items you will need:

  • wide pan (preferably with a thick bottom);
  • wooden spatula;
  • colander or blender for chopping.
Rubbing the plum mass through a colander will allow you to achieve a homogeneous mass, and the jam will turn out without lumps. For those who enjoy uneven inclusions, the blender will create a playful jam structure with small pieces of ground skins.

Cooking jam

It doesn't take long to create a dessert. It is important to ensure that the plums do not burn, otherwise the taste of the jam will be bitter. Step-by-step cooking algorithm:

  • Rinse the fruits and remove the seeds from them.
  • Pour a little water on the bottom, put the plums, cover and put on medium heat.
  • After boiling, reduce heat and cook for another 25 minutes - the plum should become soft and release the juice.
  • Grind the slightly cooled mass using the selected method (colander, blender).
  • Place the mashed fruits in a saucepan, cover with sugar, boil for half an hour, stirring occasionally.
  • Add cocoa to the thickened dark jam, mix, remove from heat.
  • Remove sample. If you need to add sweets, add sugar and boil for another 20 minutes.
  • Arrange the dessert in prepared jars, seal with lids, turn over and cool.

Rich in taste and density, jam is obtained from late ripe varieties. Early plums require more sugar and cocoa.

By varying the amount of cocoa, you can get different shades and taste of jam - from milk chocolate to dark chocolate.

Other ingredients can be added to the dessert: butter, nuts, cinnamon and other spices.

The finished chocolate dessert tastes like a store-bought chocolate paste, only all the ingredients in it are natural.
