Variety Victoria
This is one of the common varieties that most gardeners grow. Berry bushes have wide leaves of rich green color. The fruits are very large and sweet. The berry is well suited for harvesting for the winter.
Victoria strawberry jam for the winter
For cooking, medium-sized berries are selected, which are carefully sorted out, freed from the stalks and washed.
In order to cook jam, you will need:
- One kilogram of strawberries.
- One kilogram of granulated sugar.
The berries are outweighed, the portion is placed in a wide enamel container, covered with granulated sugar in a 1: 1 ratio and left until the berries produce juice. This usually takes about a day.
Next, the container with berries is put on fire and cooked until boiling. After boiling, cooking continues for up to 7 minutes, after which the container is removed from the heat and allowed to stand for another day.
This is followed by a second brewing. The jam is cooked until the foam appears, which is removed. Ready jam is poured into pre-prepared jars and closed with lids.
Five-minute jam
In addition to the traditional Victoria strawberry jam, you can make five-minute jam. It is so called because it takes exactly five minutes to cook.
The proportions for cooking jam are as follows:
- 500 grams of granulated sugar;
- 1 kilogram of berries.
These are about two half-liter cans of the finished product. Accordingly, for a larger volume, the amount of the original ingredients also increases.
For cooking, an enamel basin or a wide pan is taken, and glass jars are prepared, which are pre-sterilized.
A layer of peeled and washed berries is laid out in the prepared container and covered with granulated sugar. Next, the second layer is laid out and also covered with sand.
After 3 hours, the workpiece is placed on the plate. After boiling, cooking continues for 5 minutes with constant stirring.
Ready jam is poured into jars and closed with lids.

- litere of water;
- 1.5 kg of granulated sugar;
