The same rules apply to the selection of plums. The fruit should be fresh, clean and slightly unripe. So if you choose quality products, you will end up with delicious and long-lasting seals.
Recipe for preserving plum tomatoes
For one 3-liter jar you will need:
- about 1.5 kg of tomatoes;
- 1.2 kg plums;
- 2 - 3 branches of fresh celery;
- 5 cloves of garlic;
- a few bay leaves;
- black peppercorns to taste;
- onions, cut into large rings.
The range of spices can vary depending on your taste preferences.
REFERENCE! Cloves and dill have a distinct taste and smell, so add these spices carefully or not at all.
First of all, wash the food thoroughly, process them, if you wish, you can pull out the seeds from the plums. Pierce the tomatoes in several places with a toothpick before rolling.
Place your chosen set of spices in prepared and sterilized jars, put tomatoes and plums on them. Pour boiling water over this assortment and let it brew for 15 - 20 minutes. Then pour this water into a saucepan and cook the marinade.
For the marinade you need: sugar 3 tablespoons, salt 2 tablespoons and 50 ml of 9% vinegar, you can use apple and grape. Put these foods in water, let it boil. Once the marinade has cooled, it can be poured into jars. Then close the jars with lids, turn them over and leave in a dark and warm place. You can cover the jars with a thick towel or blanket. After a day, tomatoes with plums can already be eaten.
