Incorrect transplant
Ficus Benjamin needs a transplant every couple of years. The rules for this process:
- pull out the flower and completely shake off the old soil;
- place it in the center of the new pot;
- put drainage down, then sprinkle with new earth;
- fertilize;
- water.
If you do something wrong, the plant may not adapt, which will affect the state of its leaves.
Depletion of the earth
If you do not transplant ficus or use old soil, neglecting fertilizers, then the land will be depleted and will not be able to provide enough nutrients. It should be changed during transplantation and nutrients should be added regularly.
Rotten roots
The roots can rot not only due to stagnant water, but also for various other reasons (including the old age of the flower). To check this, you need to get the flower out of the ground and examine the root system: everything that has rotted is cut off, the places of the cuts are treated with an antiseptic, the soil changes. If the ficus can grow new roots, then the leaves will stop turning yellow and fall off.
