Root offspring

Garden work is carried out in the fall, before the onset of frost. Reproduction of raspberry bushes can be carried out with the help of lignified root suckers. They are at a distance of at least 20-30 cm from the mother bush. Greyed offspring should be annual. Bushes from which the planting material will be taken must be marked in the summer. They should bear fruit well and be disease-free.

But even if there were no manifestations of pathogenic microflora lesions on the bushes, after the separation of the planting material from the mother bush, root suckers must be checked for diseases. It is necessary to plant only healthy shoots, otherwise it will not work to breed a good raspberry garden.

Roots that have swellings at the base are discarded, because this symptom indicates a lesion with gall midge. If blue spots are present on the planting material, then it is also thrown away. Spots are a sign of purple spotting. Also, rhizomes with cancerous growths are not suitable for reproduction.

The selected material must be cleaned of leaves (if any) before planting.

Reproduction of raspberries can be carried out in the spring. Green root shoots are used as planting material. At a distance of about 35-40 cm from the center of the bush are young (green) offspring. For reproduction, they dig out raspberry shoots, which have reached a length of 15-20 cm. They are temporarily transplanted to the garden bed so that they grow up. During the summer, the seedlings are watered and fertilized. In the fall, when they get stronger, they are transplanted to a permanent place.

Propagation by cuttings and dividing the bush

You can propagate raspberries by cuttings in autumn and spring. For planting, you need to dig out the adventitious root. In order not to damage the mother part, it is necessary to retreat about 40 cm from the center of the bush, and then start digging. The most suitable for reproduction is the root, on which many branches are preserved, therefore, the material for planting should be dug out carefully.

To increase the number of raspberry bushes, roots are selected, the diameter of which is at least 2 mm. Before planting, they are cut into pieces. Each cutting should have 2-3 buds.

For normal development, the plant needs loose soil. The petioles are laid next to each other in a trench to a depth of no more than 10 cm, and then sprinkled with earth. Throughout the summer, it is necessary to ensure that the raspberry bed is well moistened.

Reproduction of bushes can be carried out in May or June, when a planned pruning (for thinning) is carried out. Removed healthy shoots (young) with at least 2-3 leaves are good material for planting.

Cut green cuttings (their length should be about 20 cm) for 15-17 hours are immersed in a solution of "Heteroauxin" (0.1%). When the time is up, the cuttings are planted in a greenhouse. It will take about 1 month for raspberries to grow the root system. After 3-4 weeks, the cuttings are transplanted to the garden bed so that they grow. In the fall, raspberries can be transplanted to a permanent place.

If a plant variety does not produce many root shoots, you can try to propagate it by dividing it. The raspberry bush is dug up, and then the root system is divided. A seedling from which a good healthy plant can grow should have about 2-3 green, powerful shoots. The root system must be strong, i.e. without signs of wilting and disease.
