Bubbling

In order for parsley to sprout faster, an interesting method is often used - bubbling. This option requires a small aquarium compressor and a tall glass-shaped container 2/3 full of water. The seeds are dipped into a container, the tube of the apparatus is placed there on the bottom and the device is turned on.

During the operation of the compressor, water is constantly mixed with air bubbles, gradually being saturated with oxygen. The procedure should last at least 20 hours. During this time, essential oil disappears from the surface of the seeds, which inhibits germination, and the seed itself swells well. When using this method, the germination time of parsley is reduced to 10 days.

Soak

A simple but effective method is to pre-soak the seeds just before sowing. It is recommended to take melt water or add it to tap wood ash (1 tbsp. l. powder per 10 liters). Use only warm liquid, the temperature of which should be at least + 20˚С, the solution should be changed every 5-6 hours. Before soaking, the seeds are folded in a gauze napkin and then dipped in water.

For this method, you can use a soap solution by adding a little dishwashing detergent to warm water. Parsley seeds are left in a soapy composition for a day. Then the grains are laid out on a napkin for drying and only after that they are sown.

You can prepare a special stimulant at home for the germination of seed, for this they mix:

  • 1 liter of melt, rain or river water;
  • 1 hour l. fruit jam;
  • 200 g dry compost.

The components are thoroughly mixed and a tissue bag with seeds is placed in the finished solution for a day. In the process of such soaking, the seed is saturated with useful substances and microorganisms. The method contributes to the rapid germination and increased immunity of parsley.

Soaking the planting material in a solution of hydrogen peroxide, medical alcohol or vodka helps to remove the film from essential oils. This procedure should not last longer than 15 minutes. After alcoholic solutions, the seeds must be washed with clean water and dried.

Temperature changes

One more method helps to speed up the appearance of the first shoots up to 5 days. It is necessary to prepare 2 containers: one with boiling water and the other with ice water. The seeds are poured into a tissue bag, which is then alternately dipped several times into a cold or hot liquid. The immersion time should not exceed 5 seconds.

Due to the sharp changes in temperature, the seeds experience a stressful situation, their awakening is activated. The heat shock triggers the growth vigor of the parsley seedlings.
