Traditional methods

To get rid of this pest, the people use any means. Both folk, proven over the years, methods, such as herbal infusions, and numerous options offered by the industry, such as hydrogen peroxide, are used.

Hydrogen peroxide solution

In a container, gently mix 1 liter of water and 2 tbsp. l. hydrogen peroxide and then spray all the cucumber plantings. This procedure should be carried out three times every 5 days.

A solution of ammonia

To create it, you need a liter of water and 1 tsp. l. ammonia. Cucumbers will need to be sprayed three times to completely destroy the pest.

Turpentine traps

Pour turpentine into containers and place them near the infected plants, covering everything with foil.

Tobacco dust

In order not to burn the leaves of cucumbers, many gardeners dust the plants with tobacco dust to kill spider mites. It is recommended to carry out this procedure several times.

Herbal infusions

Herbal infusions are widely used by gardeners for safe pest control. It is recommended to spray with such means on the back of the leaves.

  • Marigold. Fill the container halfway with flowers and pour warm water to the top. Leave the mixture for 2 days and then add 50 g of grated laundry soap. It is recommended to spray in the evening once a week.
  • Potato tops. Fill the container with potato tops and add water. After 5 hours, drain the liquid and spray the cucumber plantings. Enough 1 spraying per week.
  • Tomato tops. Fill a 10 liter container half with tomato greens, add water and cook for 0.5 hours. Add 40 g of crushed tar soap to the cooled infusion. Dilute 1: 2 with water before spraying. The procedure is repeated weekly.
  • Aconite nasal. Pour any part of aconite (roots, tubers, leaves) with a mixture of 1 liter of water and 0.1 liter of alcohol. Let stand for a while. Spray with the solution once a week.
  • Dandelion roots. For infusion, grind 30 g of dry dandelion roots, pour a liter of water and leave for about 2 hours. Water the cucumbers every 7 days.
  • The roots of the hogweed. For infusion, dried roots of hogweed are used, collected before or after its flowering. For 10 liters of water, you need to take 1 kg of hogweed roots. After a day, use the mixture for spraying.
  • Garlic heads. The infusion is prepared within 5 days from 2 chopped heads of garlic, filled with a liter of water. Before use, it is drained and diluted with water 1: 2.
  • Onion husks. Pour water into a container, pour a few handfuls of onion husks and leave for about 5 days. Drain the infusion, dilute with water and pour over the cucumbers.
  • Creeping gorchak. In a container, mix 100 g of mustard and 1 liter of water and leave for 10 hours. Before spraying, dilute with infusion with water.

Since getting rid of a spider mite is not easy - you need to spend a lot of time and effort, gardeners recommend taking preventive measures:

  • Observe the distance between the cucumbers and do not plant them in place after onions and herbs.
  • Maintain the required humidity in the greenhouse and irrigate by sprinkling.
  • Thoroughly remove weeds before and after planting.
  • Treat the greenhouse with lime and copper sulfate before planting.
