- Illumination. The choice of plants must be carried out depending on the illumination of the flower bed throughout the day.
- The timing and duration of flowering of each perennial.
- Height of flowers before and during flowering.
- Plant shape. Flowers can be carpet, spray, candle.
- The shape of buds and leaves, their color.
- Group or single boarding.
- Drought-resistant or moisture-loving. It is important to consider whether such plants can be neighbors without harming each other.
- Reproduction methods of each flower and the duration of its life cycle.

Types of perennial flowers
Mallows, lilies, phloxes, astilba and roses are flowers found in every flower bed. Original compositions can be grown without their participation with the following species.
Tall

- Gypsophila paniculata. A globular bush covered with many small carnation-like flowers. Blooms from June to August.
- Dittany. Blooms throughout the summer with pink, red, purple flowers.
Chamomile, pink rhodiola, yarrow, large-flowered flax will be a great addition to any flower bed.
Undersized
Standard plantings of pansies, pyrethrum, lavender, periwinkle should be diluted with more rare types of flowers.
- Alpine army. An unpretentious plant blooming with white, pink, red, purple flowers from July to September.
- Avens. It has yellow or orange flowers with a lot of stamens. The flowering period is from May to September.
- Eschsholzia. It resembles a poppy, reproduces by self-seeding, blooms for three days, but from June to October. That is, where some have faded, others flourish.
- Badan is thick-leaved. Blooms 3-4 weeks after the snow has completely melted. The month blooms with pinkish-lilac small flowers.
Perennials for decoration
In the immediate vicinity of water and in shallow water, you should plant:
- Air;
- Marsh iris;
- Cattail;
- Calla;
- Susak umbrella.
For the design of arches, gazebos, fences and facades of houses, climbing plants are suitable:
- Clematis;
- Hop;
- Curly rose;
- Honeysuckle.
