Consider the simplest and most popular recipe for making jelly; it does not require many ingredients:

  • gooseberries 4 kg;
  • granulated sugar 3 kg;
  • purified water 1.5 l.

All berries must be processed: wash, remove twigs and dirt, pour into a voluminous enamel basin. Pour water over the fruits and leave them for 45 minutes. First you need to prepare the syrup. To do this, pour in a large saucepan with water and add sugar, then put on low heat. Boil the syrup until the granulated sugar is completely dissolved. Pour gooseberries and raspberries into the prepared liquid. Before that, the berries must be washed and cleaned of dirt and leaves. Large gooseberries must be put in syrup before raspberries. Thus, the berries are boiled at the same time.

It is necessary to cook the jelly until the foam completely disappears from it, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon.

Ready, still boiling jam must be poured into sterilized jars and rolled up with lids.
