Such a composition will allow you to preserve the taste of tomatoes in their most natural form. In winter, this preservative can be used with pleasure, for example, borscht. In addition, these tomatoes will be a great separate appetizer to your table.

Canned tomatoes without vinegar

Products: - water, - tomatoes, - salt.

The amount of salt and the duration of the boil:

For a 3-liter can - 1 tbsp is required. l. salt (with a pea), boil for 50 minutes.

For a 2 liter jar - 1 dessert liter is required. salt, boil for 40 minutes.

For liter dishes - 1 tsp. l. salt, boiling time 30 minutes.

You need as much water as will fit in the container.

Cooking method

  • We select firm, ripe and undeformed tomatoes. Wash them carefully and put them very tightly in a sterilized jar. It is imperative to make sure that the vegetables do not crush each other, otherwise they may end up souring from their own weight.
  • Pour the specified amount of salt into the tomatoes.
  • Pour water into the jar. You don't need to boil the liquid, so just fill it with the filtered one. We close the container with a lid, but do not twist it tightly yet.
  • Next we need a large pot with high sides. In such a vessel we put a plump napkin on the bottom (a piece of dense cloth is also suitable). This is to ensure that our glass container does not crack under the influence of high temperature.
  • We put the jar in the pan and make sure that it is stable. Pour enough water into the pan so that it hides the jar by 2/3.
  • We put it on the stove and wait for the water to boil. First, you can put on a strong heat, and then, when the water boils, reduce the heat to minimum.
  • The capacity of the jar will tell you how many minutes you need to boil it (see. above table)
  • After stopping boiling, roll up the jar. Turn it over on the lid, cover it with a cloth or a regular towel and let it cool completely.
