A knife handle is not an eternal product. Sooner or later it falls into disrepair. It will be impossible to use the knife after it breaks. In such a situation, it remains either to discard the precious instrument, or to try to carry out the restoration. The first step is to prepare materials and tools for the creative process. When everything is ready, we start restoring the handle.
What you need: M6 nut, M6 hairpin, hardwood bar, acetone, epoxy glue, cyanoacrylate glue for flexible joints, gutter glue, P36 sandpaper, wine or champagne corks (10-12 pcs).
The first step is to align the plugs. To do this, they are heated in a microwave oven for 1 minute. This will be enough to return them to their original appearance. Further, one side plate is cut off from the plugs, after which you can proceed to grinding them on coarse P36 sandpaper.
Having cut and sanded 2 plugs, we coat their sides with glue. We pause and wait until the solvent evaporates, after which we connect the blanks. They must hold tightly together. Next, we cut off the two formed wide sidewalls at the plugs, grind. After all these actions, we get a type-setting plate. These need to be made from 4-6 corks. You also need to carve a bolster and a back plate for a knife from wood.
Glue and a threaded shank will help to collect the blanks in the handle. It is recommended to coat each element with epoxy glue at the joints. The handle is assembled into one piece and (if necessary) fixed with bolts.

After that, it is necessary to trim the plugs and sand the handle. When it becomes round, cover it with a mixture of 50 parts acetone and 1 part cyanoacrylate glue. The impregnation is applied several times with a pause of 15 minutes.
