Surely even the most inattentive and unobservant people noticed metal parts periodically lying on the ground in the form of the letter "W" or "E" (depending on how you look). There are especially many of them in the village for some unknown reason. Most people don't even know where this part came from and why it is actually needed.
What are these mysterious pieces of iron? In fact, everything is extremely simple. However, for a better understanding, you will have to briefly return to the Soviet era and remember what old (including black and white) televisions were like. One of the most important parts in the old TV was the power transformer. It consisted of a copper coil with a core and a set of retaining plates.
Sooner or later, the TV would become unusable. Some citizens simply threw away the high-tech product, while others resold the TVs to scrap buyers or took them apart themselves. Actually, the buyers themselves were engaged in the latter (for the sake of disassembly, the equipment was bought up). Most of all they were interested in just that power transformer.

The TV was disassembled into parts, the transformer was removed from the board, after which it was disassembled into its component parts. I was interested, of course, in the copper coil. It was untwisted onto a wire, after which the copper was handed over to the collection points for non-ferrous metals. It was definitely impossible to get rich on one reel, but if you disassemble 25-50 TVs and hand them over to the scrap, you could get a rather big penny for your work as a junk dealer.

What does this have to do with the mysterious details in the form of the letter "W"? Moreover, this is just one of those steel retaining plates for a copper coil. The mount was assembled from a variety of such "W", after which the generator coil was strung on it. Since the steel in such small quantities was not of interest to the junkers, they simply threw away plates, as a result of which they found themselves in large numbers on the streets, falling under an hour in the most unpredictable places.
