An old car pump, in the minds of most motorists, is only good for scrap metal. In fact, this is not the case. With the proper desire, diligence and the included ingenuity, the pump can be turned into a comfortable and reliable tool stand. Fortunately, this is not as difficult to do as it might seem at first glance. Let's take a closer look at the production process.
What you need: spray paint (two colors), tension spring, equal angle, set of bolts, channel
First of all, we mark and cut out two identical blanks from the steel channel. They will become the basis for our grinder stand. Next, you need to drill a hole in the pump tide to match the diameter of the hole on the channel. The same is done with a long nut, which is then placed under the bolt head. Next, another hole is made in the pump flange, into which the elongated nut is tightened from the other side.
Having fastened the pump in a vice, we use a grinder to remove the protruding part of the flange, which is located between the nuts. Two more blind holes are then drilled in the pump gear disc. They must be symmetrical to its central axis. We cut a thread in them with a tap.
Next, using a grinder, we grind a fragment of the channel from all sides. It is necessary to remove all excess from it, including rust and burrs. To keep the nuts tight, you can fix them by welding. Then, with the help of a grinder, we cut off a part from an equal angle corner and drill two holes longitudinally in the center.
We temporarily remove the protective cover from the grinder, put the cutting disc and screw the corner with the pump to the tool with a bolt instead of the removed handle. We put two channels on top. We verify the accuracy of the installation of the grinder and carry out welding. After that, we align the ends of the channels, round off the corners and weld a segment of an equal angle corner to them transversely. We hook the spring.

Now you need to cut off an equal angle corner and one shelf for a round hole. Then we put the shelf opposite the center of the cutting disk at a right angle, drill another hole perpendicular to it. We carry out fixing the corner with bolts and nuts. Now you can disassemble the entire structure and paint, and then assemble it back.
