Sadly, sometimes one gets the impression that the really good floats ended with the country that “ended” in 1991. Finding a really good quality kitchen tool today is a real challenge. Therefore, it may turn out that it is much easier and better to take and sharpen an old grater. This is not so difficult to do. The method is proven, "old-fashioned".
The most important thing to know about sharpening the grater is the angle of the protruding part. With new graters, it is usually 30 degrees. After a long work with this tool, the angle has a custom to change. Before you start sharpening the grater, you need to restore this very angle. Any round object, for example a screwdriver or even an ordinary nail, will help us in this matter. To do this, insert a screwdriver halfway into each hole (one by one) and pull it out sharply, as if prying the protruding part. This must be done several times. We pull without much fanaticism!
When this is done, you can start sharpening the float directly. You will need a file here. It is not necessary to have a complete set, it is enough to have only one suitable for work. However, if you process each tooth with a different file, the sharpening will be better. Of course, the file must be round. This costs about 40 rubles (including sold by the piece).

Then everything is elementary - we sequentially insert the file into each hole of the grater and begin to sharpen teeth in up and down movements, while trying to rotate the sharpening tool around its axis. We spend 10-20 seconds for each tooth. Having processed each slot in this way, it remains only to thoroughly rinse the grater. After that, she will be like new.
