High-quality electrical connection of conductors is a guarantee of the reliability of the operation of electrical equipment used in everyday life and in production. However, not everyone is able to get reliable contact at home. To do this, you will need to master the rules for forming a connection, as well as purchase suitable products (clamps). The simplest and most reliable way to obtain high-quality contact is to use German WAGO terminals, which fully comply with domestic standards. (PTEEP R.3.1.1). Their appearance can be found in the photo below.

Design features

Structurally, WAGO electrical clamps are made in the form of small-sized connectors that allow splicing any quality conductors. They are suitable for the design of the contact of wired products with soft and hard cores and even for connecting wires of dissimilar metals.

Despite the fact that the contact area of these products is not too large, they provide a high-quality connection of conductors of a certain section. This standard (analogue of our

GOST 30011.1-2012) was developed in Germany, where the most stringent requirements in Europe for the technical characteristics of connectors. That is why there is no doubt about the quality of the products, the brand name of which is shown in the photo below!

In addition, these terminals are widespread throughout the world and would not be so popular if they had significant drawbacks. Time has shown that in practical terms, WAGO connectors are very convenient and reliable. When using them, you should periodically check the quality of the established contact and tighten it. This is especially important in the case of dissimilar metal conductors. If this requirement is met, no problems with such terminal blocks, as a rule, arise.

How to use WAGO terminals correctly

The considered products meet the requirements PUE-7 p.2.1.13, which allows using Russian standards for the formation of connections when handling them. The latter boil down to compliance with the following recommendations:

  • the conductors should be stripped exactly to the length that is indicated in the instructions for their use;
  • the length of the bare section should be such that a part of the insulated wire "goes" into the block (photo below);
  • this is necessary in order to prevent accidental touching a bare vein;
  • dissimilar (copper and aluminum, for example) wires connected by means of terminals should not be highly oxidized, which significantly reduces the quality of the contact;
  • before its formation, the bare parts should be carefully cleaned;
  • it is best to strip the insulation from new wires just before their clamping in the block.

When using WAGO products in conjunction with a special paste that improves the formed contact, reuse of this block is not allowed. This rule is also true for the case when, after insertion, violations in the fixation of the conductor are found and you have to get it back. In this situation, you should clean it again and use a new terminal strip.
