The refrigerator requires respect for itself. Here are some general, but important recommendations for caring for it, which will keep it working throughout its entire life cycle:
- do wet cleaning inside and out, so both products and the appearance of equipment will last longer;
- Defrost the refrigerator according to the factory operating instructions;
- in the event of a power outage, it is advisable to disconnect the refrigerator from the mains, before resuming its supply, in order to avoid a possible voltage surge when turning on the power supply.
What do you need to know so that refrigerator repairs are not required?
Correct placement
So, taking care of the refrigerator should begin from the moment of purchase. And the first thing to do is to determine a safe location. It is not recommended to place it next to heating radiators, as well as near a window under the influence of direct sunlight. This can lead to deterioration of paint, plastic and rubber parts.
Do not place the refrigerator too close to the wall. There should be five or more centimeters of free space at the back and top. If these two rules are not followed, the compressor can overheat and fail and fail. Here it will be necessary to call the master. There must be a solid and stable surface on which the refrigerator will be located.
It is also advisable not to put other pieces of furniture close to it. It may start to rattle during operation.
Power supply
If for some reason you disconnected the device from the outlet, then you need to turn it on again no earlier than after 5 minutes. Even if you just accidentally pulled the plug out of the socket.
Defrosting
As for defrosting. It is needed from time to time to all refrigerators, including modern ones, except for those equipped with the No Frost system.
Advice: after defrosting the refrigerator, connect it to the power supply and let it run for one cycle without food load. When the refrigerator, after a little work, turns off - this is one cycle. Now it can be filled with food.
I also do not recommend picking ice off the walls with sharp and hard objects, because they can damage the surface. When defrosting, it is permissible to use warm water and a cloth.
Humidity
Avoid increasing humidity inside the freezer. This can happen due to too juicy (or wet, freshly washed) fruits and vegetables. Or if you put liquid food there, not closed with a lid.
This can create an unpleasant odor that will persist even when you remove the damp product. In addition, the higher the humidity, the more often you will have to defrost. In fairly advanced models, severe freezing of the evaporator can affect the electronics of the refrigerator and even disable it.
Care
Another important point: respect for the internal details. Many units in depth contain a "crying evaporator". Do not put food close to it. But it is recommended to periodically clean the drain for water under it. The main thing is not to damage the material from which it is made.
It is recommended to wash the refrigerator 2-3 times a year or a little more often. This should be done with a soft cloth and without too caustic cleaning agents. By the way, you can not use detergents at all, but add a small amount of soap solution or soda to the water. And, of course, one of the oldest rules: do not put hot objects in the refrigerator and always make sure that its door is tightly closed.
Follow the operating rules, and you won't need to repair the refrigerators for a long time!
