Any user is interested in the question of which devices can be left plugged into the outlet overnight, and which must be disconnected. At best, the performance of a household appliance depends on the correctness of its decision, and at worst, the safety of expensive property. So, leaving the iron on, for example, can lead to a fire and the subsequent fire, which will quickly spread throughout the apartment (photo below).

Household appliances subject to mandatory control

The list of devices subject to mandatory shutdown is presented below:

  • Irons and soldering irons.
  • Hair dryers, curling irons and electric heaters of any type (including boilers).
  • Electric shavers in the bathroom.
  • Chargers for phones and other devices.
Important! This list does not include units that are constantly operating for their intended purpose (refrigerators, electronic clocks and air conditioners, for example), as well as appliances with a shutdown timer.

A household tool (electric drill, grinder and the like) should be added to the above list. Each of these positions needs separate consideration.

Iron, hair dryer and curling iron

Irons are in the category of household appliances, the most dangerous in terms of fire. Not every family is able to purchase a modern device that has an automatic shutdown option. Therefore, any housewife should remember and strictly observe one important rule, according to which, after the ironing is completed, the iron must be turned off (photo below).

It is also the responsibility of the female half of the family to make sure that the hair dryer and curling iron are turned off, often forgetting to do so in a hurry. These devices are not as dangerous as an iron, but they still pose a certain threat. They also contain heating elements and, if left unchecked, can do a lot of trouble.

Electric shaver and household tool

Men also tend to be distracted, often the reason they leave electric shavers on, for example. Considering that this device is most often used in the bathroom, the consequences of such forgetfulness can be unpredictable. According to the PUE, a bathroom belongs to the category of especially dangerous premises, where the combination of electricity and high humidity increases the risk of fire by an order of magnitude.

A drill, grinder and other power tools from the standard set of the owner of the house are often left turned on without any need for this. They pose a threat to both the person using them and to the young members of his family. The owner of the tool can start changing the disc while the device is not turned off and accidentally press the start key. The likelihood of injury in this case is very high, and for a child who has begun to play with a drill or grinder, this can generally end in failure.

Charging device

Charging units from phones and tablets (or from any other device) are also subject to mandatory disconnection from the network immediately after the end of their use.

This requirement is due to the following reasons:

  • If this rule is violated, electricity consumption increases.
  • There is a theoretical, but still nonzero, probability of a module fire (due to a random coincidence of hazardous factors).

Anticipating the objections of a number of users whose charging has not been removed from the outlet for years, note that one cannot be completely sure of something, based only on one example from personal experience.
