Self-creation of an interior is not easy. Looking at pictures in magazines, you can get inspired by this or that idea, but in practice it does not always come out to realize your plans. The issue is not simpler with the development of decor.
To help facilitate this process, the designer Victoria Korotetskaya talked about the main mistakes that should be avoided.
6. Don't use many colors
You shouldn't use more than three colors in one room. If you are confident in your abilities, then, of course, you can play with shades and tones.
The main thing is to remember about compatibility and not to overdo it, so as not to slip into luridness. New, more saturated colors are best applied pointwise - in the form of accent accessories.
5. Lack of paint is also a flaw
Lack of paint is little better than overly variegated colors. Few would like to live in a sterile "hospital ward" or "gray office".
If you decide to create a monochrome interior, remember: monochrome does not mean monotonous. Such an apartment can be interestingly decorated using many shades of the main color. This will help create depth. Also, take care to include different textures.
4. Don't overload the interior with ornaments
An interesting ornament can bring dynamics and liveliness, but you need to be very careful when working with the inclusion of prints in the interior.
Surround patterned areas with neutral objects and finishes in style and color.
3. Don't add too much
Avoid being overused in decor items. For example, don't hang an entire wall with decorative plates, photographs, or posters. This will create unnecessary visual noise and will constantly distract your eyes, taking too much of your attention.
In order not to "stifle" the interior, try to include only the most interesting samples when creating compositions from objects.
2. Give up trick items
Most designers agree that wall murals or wallpapers with imitation of any texture, such as stone or brick, greatly reduce the cost of the interior.
This is especially noticeable on inexpensive products. High-quality wallpaper with a light interesting print or real brickwork will always look many times better than similar "tricks".

Pictures, posters, photos are in almost every apartment, and they play an important role in decorating rooms, complementing the style, adding accents or creating interesting references. However, the most important thing should not be forgotten - the images must be clearly visible. Therefore, hang them at the middle eye level, do not send them too high, to the very ceiling.
Also, arrange paintings in proportion to walls and large pieces of furniture. In addition, if you want to add more personal photos to the interior, it is better to link them into a single composition using frames in the same color scheme and the same style. You can also transfer pictures to black and white. Then such a home gallery will not look like a "vinaigrette".
