Designers Ekaterina Lyubarskaya and Ekaterina Svanidze designed a compact apartment with an area of only 17 m² in the building of a former hotel.
They were faced with the task of organizing a tiny space in such a way that everything necessary for a comfortable life could fit there as freely as possible.
- total area: 17 m²
- Number of rooms: Studio
- Ceiling height: 3m
- Location: Moscow, former hotel "Altai"
- Who lives here: for long term rental
- Budget: 200-350 thousand rubles
- Designers: Ekaterina Lyubarskaya and Ekaterina Svanidze (DVEKATI)

The apartment is located at the end of the building, due to which there are two large windows in the room. They let in a lot of light, and the relatively high ceilings add volume.
Choosing among several planning solutions, we ended up with an option with a bedroom-niche and a kitchen at the entrance opposite the window.
Only two materials were used for decoration - paint for walls and floors and carpet in the bedroom area. Almost all the furniture was bought from an IKEA store.
Kitchen
In fact, the "headset" consists only of a screen, the backdrop of which will be the wall of the bed niche, shelves for dishes and countertops. A mini-refrigerator was also placed under the latter.
The enlarged window sill opposite has been turned into a breakfast area.
A miniature chair was selected for it, which easily slides against the wall and saves space. Its color acts as an accent spot in the interior.
Bedroom
The whole area was lifted to the podium and covered with carpet, thereby zoning the room. This gives the impression of several rooms inside one.
The bed was marked with an additional height level. She was snugly hidden behind a kitchen partition. In addition, a storage system was equipped under it.
The border area has become something of a mini-living room with a small dining area.
Bathroom
In the bathroom, the ceiling was lowered, making the room cuboid. In the free space above, a mezzanine was equipped for storage.
The washing machine was raised on a low sill and built into a niche.
Hallway
The interior details in the entrance area are items with a Soviet flavor. The designers have chosen a massive vintage mirror and a minimalist hanger. They link the apartment to the architectural history of the building.
