Repair of a 58 m² kopeck piece with complex geometry for a young girl

  • Dec 15, 2020

Designer Yekaterina Burdina designed a two-room apartment in a new building in a modern style.

The complex geometry of the space brought a lot of difficulties, but the disadvantages of the layout were eventually turned into advantages.

  • total area: 58 m²
  • Number of rooms: 2
  • Ceiling height: 2.7 m
  • A place: Moscow
  • Who lives here: girl
  • Budget: 4.5 million rubles
  • Designer: Ekaterina Burdina
  • Stylist: Julia Chebotar

The interior was based on three colors: white, gray and wood color. Bright accents in the form of pieces of furniture and textiles revived the monochrome base.

Living room

Light gray walls and natural wood on the floor in the seating area complemented the mustard color in the sofa upholstery. Its tone is supported by a round coffee table with a wide gold rim and a pattern on the carpet.

Also, a place in the general palette is occupied by a soft pink shade of textiles, which becomes richer in the color of the curtains.

Ceiling cornices are mounted with a large approach to the ceiling and are painted in the color of the walls.

This technique visually increases its height. The true shade of the walls can be seen at the border of the white ceiling and the light gray cornice.

Geometric patterns were used in the design. So, a pink circle was painted on the wall, which acts as a contrasting detail and supports the curly theme of the carpet in the recreation area.

In addition, the lines of the open shelving for books add graphicity, which echo the broken silhouette of the lamp in the living room.

Kitchen

The preliminary design of the kitchen was almost ready, but the designer advised to correct the color and make small changes to the rhythm of the facades.

The customer decided to abandon the standard set of wall cabinets and preferred a graphic system of lightweight frame shelves.

At the window on the border with the recreation area, a place was allocated for a mini-dining room.

Bedroom

The bedroom turned out to be calm due to the color, but at the same time not boring thanks to the selected wallpaper.

In addition to the unusual ornamentation, they are distinguished by a glossy surface that clearly manifests itself in sunlight.

Hallway

An ergonomic storage system was thought out in the hallway.

When decorating, animalistic motifs in the form of a flamingo figure in bright colors appeared. Its shade saturates the pink theme in the apartment.

Bathroom

An unexpected solution was used to decorate parts of the walls and floor in the bathroom. They were laid out with an "English herringbone" made of cut tiles.
