The Special Style design team has converted a 40 m² high-ceilinged concrete box into a two-level rental studio. The aesthetic concept is based on the Scandinavian style with its white color and an abundance of wooden textures.

  • total area: 40 m² (without mezzanine)
  • Number of rooms: studio with mezzanine
  • Ceiling height: 3.9 m
  • A place: Moscow
  • Who lives here: for rent
  • Budget: 4.5 million rubles
  • Designers: Studio Special Style

They tried to leave the space as open as possible. To use the height of the living space, a mezzanine was organized on four metal supports. They were hidden in the walls. Thus, another 7 m² was added to the living area of the apartment.

Kitchen-living room

Downstairs, a kitchen-living room was equipped with a Gervasoni sofa and an island combined with a dining table. Large-scale wicker lamps from IKEA have become a striking detail.

A compact kitchen set was built into a niche. Thanks to the Arrital island, it was possible to accommodate all the necessary functionality and provide enough space for the work surface.

The white Scandinavian interior of the room was set off with many black details, including shelves, which added a graphic touch. A large number of wooden slats were used in the design. They create vertical dynamics and raise the ceiling even higher.

Bedroom

A small, cozy alcove was arranged on the upper level. The height of the bedroom came out only 175 cm - not everyone can stretch out to their full height, however, the room is quite convenient for sleeping.

The rest of the mezzanine space was set aside for a small pantry for storing seasonal clothes.

Hallway

Natural light from the living room easily penetrates into the low entrance hall, which does not create the feeling of a "cellar" when entering the apartment. A two-meter cabinet was "cut out" in the resulting wall.

Bathroom

The bathroom is spacious and functional. In addition to the shower corner and the necessary plumbing, a household cabinet with a mini-laundry room was placed here.
