6. Sustainability

As in other areas of life, the trend towards the use of renewable materials is relevant in modern interiors. Cork floor is on the hit list. Bamboo flooring is also popular. As you know, this plant can grow up to 20 cm per day, and some varieties up to 50 cm.

5. Imitations

In the context of striving for naturalness, materials that imitate it do not go unnoticed. In this regard, there has been a new growth in the popularity of tiles, porcelain stoneware and quartz-vinyl coverings for stone, wood or concrete.

4. Tiles with splashes

This year, terrazzo-patterned tiles are experiencing a new heyday. It is a coating interspersed with chips of marble or granite. It is used not only in flooring, but also in the design of walls and countertops.

Depending on the color and size of the blotches, the tiles can have a neutral shade or, on the contrary, stand out for their saturation. To date, the most attention is paid to variations with bright and large crumbs.

3. Parquet

Parquet is an absolute timeless trend and continues to firmly hold its position in the top. Nevertheless, in this direction, the bias has moved even more towards naturalness. So, the first places are now occupied by wide boards with clear wooden rings.

Variations with an antiquity effect and scuffs are relevant. The traditional herringbone layout using light woods also remains at the top of the list.

2. Increase in size

In the modern flooring market, there has been a tendency towards consolidation. This mainly affected porcelain stoneware. Slabs, which were previously called large, have now taken their place among the middle peasants. The fashionable size today reaches significantly more formatted dimensions.

1. Minimalism

Minimalism is currently very popular in interior design, including flooring. The leaders are natural tones with a natural pattern.

Cool shades or light woods are encouraged. At the same time, you can play with the contrast of dark and white. Bright colors are allowed only when using terrazzo tiles or in certain styles, for example, pop art.
